VE Day Fete at Signature House
On Monday 5th May, our incredible team at Signature House, Dorchester hosted an unforgettable VE Day Fete, bringing our amazing residents, staff and local community together for a wonderful afternoon. Thoroughly enjoyed by all involved, the Fete truly embodied the importance of remembrance, and perfectly captured the love and joy fostered through community spirit and events like these.
The weather was not necessarily the hottest, but that did not matter. The warm, loving atmosphere provided by our community was shining throughout the exciting afternoon. An inspirational opening from the mayor set the tone for the glorious celebration steeped in respect and gratitude. Additionally, we were treated to the sight of some original military vehicles. Their historic presence served as a powerful reminder of the past, and it is worth mentioning provided some excellent photo opportunities! Adding to the charm of the day (and levels of cuteness), our brilliant friends at The Animal Ranch made a special visit. This sparked further delight amongst all involved, as our furry friends enjoyed their share of the fun, laughter and cuddles (of course).
No community celebration is complete without thrilling activities, delicious food and some uplifting music. As always, our loving community did not disappoint. Scrumptious cake stalls tempted those who passed with a variety of sweet treats, while the captivating raffle – with enticing prizes on offer – kept everyone on their toes! The aroma of the mouth-watering BBQ filled the air, providing a tasty meal, while a heartfelt musical performance offered a passionate sing along experience for everyone to enjoy.
As well as being a terrific event, the Signature House VE Day Fete showcased the endless generosity and love felt throughout our family at Amica Care. Together, we managed to raise a fantastic total of £1000 – a testament to the solidarity of our community and the celebration of VE Day. We are forever thankful to everyone who helped to make our Fete a huge success. The incredible donations have all gone toward our residents’ funds, and we are proud to have donated 10% of the sum to Help for Heroes!
To everyone who donated and got involved, we would like to give a huge thank you. It was an afternoon that not only celebrated a pivotal moment in history, but the love, respect and unity we share with one another all year round. We already can’t wait for our next celebration!
