Amica Care operates five nursing and residential care homes. The homes are located in Bromsgrove in Worcestershire, Crewkerne in Somerset, Dorchester in Dorset, and Exmouth and Plymouth in Devon.
In addition to its care homes, the Trust is also the freeholder of 126 Independent Living Properties (co-located with two of the Trust's homes in Exmouth, and Dorchester; and with our Support Office near Taunton).
Amica Care Trust is a registered charitable company, formed on the 11th September 2000, and currently employing around 350 staff. It is governed by a Board of Trustees, chaired by John Whittaker. The board meet on a monthly basis and visit the Trust's homes regularly.
Prior to re-branding as Amica Care Trust in January 2019, the Trust was known as Somerset Redstone Trust. A name derived from the creation of the charity which involved the amalgamation of Somerset Care Trust (1992) and Redstone Trust (1996).
Our primary charitable objective is to promote the relief of people in the UK who are disadvantaged by physical, mental and other handicaps and are in need.
We achieve this though caring for older people, both in our care homes and independent living accommodation. We provide nursing, dementia, residential care and companionship, as well as day care and respite care.
