Celebrating 80 Years of VE Day at Exmouth House
At Exmouth House, the 80th Anniversary of VE Day was celebrated in true Amica Care fashion, as our amazing community gathered to enjoy a day filled with warm memories and strong, loving connections. Every heartfelt moment served as a joyous tribute to a day that changed history, and our incredible family at Exmouth House had some wonderful ways to celebrate.
The day began on a reflective note, with a thoughtful quiz that took us all on a reminiscent trip down memory lane. Nostalgic smiles, friendly conversations and (importantly) a warm cuppa, completed a wonderful start to the day as stories and remembrances filled the room.
A quiet, deeply moving moment arrived at 12pm, when everyone paused for a moment of commemoration and joined the nation for the two-minute silence. During this heartfelt pause, we all paid tribute to the sacrifices made and this significant part of our history.
Beautifully dressed up with VE Day inspired decorations, our stunning home in Exmouth was transformed into a warm celebration of legacy and hope. A scrumptious sit-down lunch further elevated the welcoming, cosy atmosphere, as everyone gathered around the delightfully decorated tables to enjoy a delicious meal and heartwarming conversations.
A perfect blend of contemplation, warmth and support, our celebration at Exmouth House was a fantastic testament to VE Day, and harnessed the strong sense of unity we foster at Amica Care all year round.
