Cuddles, Compassion & Cuteness; A Cosy Afternoon at The Orchards

Our exceptional community at The Orchards recently enjoyed a riveting visit from the dedicated team at Twinnies Petting Farm. The afternoon was a brilliant occasion, as everyone relaxed and enjoyed a memorable few hours, filled with hugs, happiness and some welcomed furry friends.

A true feeling of stimulation, positivity and a sense of therapy was conveyed through this uplifting visit, three things we hold dear at Amica Care, and display on a daily basis. Our incredible residents sat back and enjoyed warm conversations, a comforting atmosphere and some fantastic company.

The inspirational team at Twinnies visited on Friday afternoon, bringing with them some very unique guests, including adorable rabbits, a gentle guinea pig, a polite pony and a laid-back lamb. It was amazing to see such a variety of animals! Joy and jubilation blanketed the room as we enjoyed our fair share of cuddles and laughs, as well as some lively dialogue and shared knowledge about the charming visitors.

As chit-chats commenced and refreshments were passed around, it became clear that these memories and beautiful moments of connection will be cherished forever. It was undeniably, a sight to behold. Also, it would be appropriate to note that our adorable arrivals certainly enjoyed soaking up the undivided attention!

This wonderful initiative by Twinnies Petting Farm aims to enable people of all ages to feed, touch and interact with the animals. They provide hands-on, therapeutic petting and feeding experiences through their innovative Mobile Farm service. Travelling to an array of different locations, they bring with them unrivalled enthusiasm, passion and joy, catering to those with diverse needs including autism, mental health, dementia and challenging behaviours. It is a heartwarming project, and one we hold dear to us at Amica Care.

We would like to take this opportunity to applaud Twinnies for their remarkable work, and the pure delight they bring to so many people. Throughout our splendid family at Amica Care, we help to maintain independence, creating special moments and fulfilling lives. This glorious experience is a testament to both our and Twinnies extraordinary work, and we are ecstatic to say that everyone (including our lovable guests) had a thrilling time.

We recognise and appreciate the significance of engaging visits and activities like these that stimulate affection, comfort and happiness. Animals, in every form, are so precious, and bring joy in abundance to each of us in various ways. From the heartwarming emotional connection and memory stimulation, to reducing anxiety and encouraging social engagement, the benefits of visits like these are endless.

Collectively, we had a lovely time and are extremely grateful to have experienced such a terrific afternoon. The love and joy felt throughout the experience is a fitting tribute to the happiness and togetherness we embody in our community all year round.
