Colleagues Shine as Finalists in the South West Great British Care Awards

The Orchards Nursing Home is proud to announce that two of its dedicated staff members have been named finalists in the prestigious South West Great British Care Awards.

The Great British Care Awards are a series of regional events throughout the UK and are a celebration  of excellence across the care sector.  The purpose of the awards are to pay tribute to those individuals who have demonstrated outstanding excellence within their field of work.

Ruth O'Dea, Home Manager, Finalist in the Care Home Registered Manager Category:

Ruth O'Dea, the Home Manager of The Orchards, has been selected as a finalist in the Home Care Registered Manager category. This award will be given to the Care Home Registered Manager who has demonstrated a high level of expertise together with exceptional skills in managing the complex business of running a care home. Ruth is celebrated for her approach in developing person-centred care and for her unwavering support to the staff to meet the ever changing needs of the residents.

Kerry Norminton, Care Home Worker, Finalist in the Care Home Worker Award:

Kerry Norminton, a dedicated member of The Orchards Nursing Home team, has earned her place as a finalist in the Care Home Worker category. This prestigious award acknowledges the pivotal role of Care Home Workers in consistently delivering a high standard of care to residents in residential care settings. Kerry's nomination reflects her exceptional dedication, her unwavering commitment to the home’s residents, and her commitment to continuous career development through training opportunities.

Amica Care and The Orchards take great pride in the recognition of these two outstanding individuals who have consistently gone above and beyond to ensure the well-being and comfort of the residents under their care.

The winners of the South West Great British Care Awards will be announced at a prestigious awards ceremony on 23rd November at Ashton Gate in Bristol. Subsequently, the winners from the regional event will advance to the National Finals set to take place in March 2024.
