Amica Care Staff Awards 2025
On Tuesday 30th September, we gathered at the stunning Taunton Racecourse for our annual Staff Awards, a celebration of the tireless hard work that our colleagues demonstrate on a daily basis. The weather suited the occasion perfectly with the bright skies and crisp wind complementing the breathtaking scenery that surrounded us. This set the stage for what was a truly beautiful occasion, celebrating our outstanding colleagues who have gone above and beyond in their role, and creating collective memories that will last forever.
The foundation of our awards lies in the nominations put forward by colleagues, residents, and their families – a true expression of gratitude and admiration for some special members of our community. Choosing winners from such an exceptional group of nominees was far from simple. Nonetheless, our faithful judges found themselves deeply moved by the inspiring stories of dedication and compassion that have taken place over the course of the last year.

Before we knew it, guests began to arrive, filling the car park, and gasping at the gorgeous view as they made their way toward the venue. A buzz of excitement filled the air as greetings took place and the room gathered a hum of cheerful voices, as we enjoyed catching up over a warm cuppa. Elevating the mood further, we were extremely fortunate to enjoy a magnificent singing performance. We would like to give a huge thank you to Meghan Rae for gracing us with such a moving vocal display.
The mood of anticipation suddenly turned to hunger when we realised a delectable buffet had been quietly prepared toward the back of the room. A spread of scrumptious bites were spread out on the table, with something to delight every palate. We lined up, plates at the ready and filled them generously with an array of lunchtime delicacies before settling down at our tables to enjoy a lovely meal.
After emptying our plates and enjoying a few minutes of intrigued chit-chat, the main event arrived, as our CEO Keren Wilkinson and member of Trustees Alan Ladd took to the stage in glorious fashion to announce the honours. As names were declared and stories of dedication and unwavering commitment shared, each time, the room erupted with well-deserved applause and cheers. Hearing about the incredible ways in which our fellow colleagues have gone and beyond to help, lead and influence our community was truly inspiring.
The afternoon shifted into a relaxed close with coffee, cake and conversation. It was clear that this occasion was not only a celebration for some amazing individuals, but also a recognition of the collective effort that defines Amica Care. With Ernstell House taking home the prestigious Home of the Year award, their phenomenal progress served as a fine representation of the impressive strides we have made as an organisation. We give our upmost congratulations to them once more!
As we reflect on this year’s awards, we would like to extend our deep appreciation and thanks to every member of our family. The commitment, compassion and dedication you show continues to set us apart. Here’s to another year of creating memories, making a positive difference, and continuing our wholehearted commitment to providing the best care.
