Chinese New Year Celebrations at St John's Court Bromsgrove

St John’s Court Care Home in Bromsgrove is gearing up for the forthcoming Chinese New Year. Our residents and the team, have now all received their vaccinations and our team is working hard continuing to keep everyone safe until all can come together as a family once more.

And the fun begins with the run up to the Chinese New Year on February 12th, which this year is the Year of the Ox. In Chinese culture, the Ox is a valued animal, because of its role in agriculture and positive characteristics, such as being hardworking and honest, are attributed to the Ox.

So, our hardworking team at St John’s Court is planning a big celebration in the run up to the main event.  Our residents will be learning how to cook authentic Chinese food, with cooking demonstrations from the Chef.  One of the residents said “We like making things here, so we decided to make some incense burners to use on the 12th February, just as they will be doing in China”.

Jacqui Harris, the Manager at St John’s Court, knows that our residents are thrilled to have received their vaccination and also thrilled about celebrating Chinese New Year, and confirms that everyone is going have fun during the preparations.
